Disk Director merge partition

  • Disk Director can merge partitions such as to merge one partition into another partition. Then, let's see how to merge partitions with Disk Director.

    Launch the software and we will see the five partitions are displayed in the main interface: C(FAT32 9.8GB)\H(NTFS 9.8GB)\E(NTFS 500MB)\D(FAT16 7.8MB)\G(NTFS 10.2GB).



    Now, merge partition E into partition G, and store the data of partition E as a folder into partition G.

    First, select partition E, and right click to select Merge in the right click menu. You can also selct Merge from the shortcut in the user interface.



    Second, after click Merge and you will see the following dialogue box.



    From the above dialogue box, the software requires to select a target partition as a merge object. That's to say, merge partition E into the selected partition.



    Select partition G and click Next to continue.

    Thirdly, after click next, you will see the following window.



    From the tips on the above dialogue box, we learn that an empty file folder from disk G is needed to hold data from partition E. If no empty file folder available, just create one from the short cut as the above picture shows. Here we just select the file folder BAK and click OK.

    At last, we shall see partition E disappear, that's to say partition E is merged into partition G.
